What is your position in the company?

Controller

How would you describe your job to someone that doesn’t know the business?

I oversee the financial activities of the company. Ensure that employees and vendors are paid, that we’re getting paid by our customers, and that anything else that makes money or costs money is accounted for correctly.  Also provide data to others in the company that will help in decision making.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

What I enjoy most about my new role here is getting to know everyone and learning new things.  What I enjoy most about my role in general, past and present is having the opportunity to solve problems and improve processes.

Is there anything exciting that you are currently working on?

I’ve only been with the company about 6 weeks, so everything I’m doing is new and exciting.  New industry, new people, new processes.

What was your first job?

File clerk for Vallejo Merchants Association, which was the local credit reporting agency.

Do you have any hobbies?

My main hobby is anything cooking related, I love trying new recipes.  During the holidays and other special occasions, I really enjoy baking and giving out cookies and candies as gifts to friends and family. I also do cross stitch projects which can take up to a year to complete.

What was the best concert you ever attended?

Phil Collins back in the early 90’s.  He put on an amazing show and I was so impressed with not only the vocals, but with how many different instruments he played.

What’s your ideal day off like?

Sleep in until about 8, have a good breakfast, put on comfy clothes and then cuddle up on the couch with JT and our pups and binge watch something on Netflix.

If you had to eat one meal every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Pizza

Do you have a favorite sport or team?

Oakland A’s, huge Rickey Henderson fan from way back.

If you were stuck on an island, who’s the one person you’d chose to help you survive?

My fiancé JT.  We’ve survived each other for the last 20+ years, so he’d be my first pick.  Food is one of my top priorities and I’d probably have issues if I had to actually kill something to eat.  He’d be fine doing it, so with him there I know I wouldn’t starve.

Any New Year’s resolutions?

Just the usual, more exercise, better diet, more quality time with loved ones.
